How To Create a Shortcut or Hotkey To Safely Remove USB Devices

Usually we remove Hardware by Clicking “Safely Remove Hardware” Icon Present in System Tray.Instead of doing that we can do a small hack to Launch “Safely Remove Dialog Box” by Creating Shortcut or assigning Hotkey (Best Method).

Create a Shortcut to the Safely Remove USB Devices:

  • Right-click on the desktop and choose New –>Shortcut
  • Then paste in the following into the location box :

RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll

  • Next Give a Shortcut name, here i have given it as Safely Remove

How To Assign a Shortcut Key:

  • Right-click on the Created Shortcut icon.
  • Open the properties dialog, then go to the Shortcut tab.

  • Now Assign a Shortcut key (Here i have assigned CTRL+F2).
  • Apply & Close the dialog box.

This hotkey will make a Fast launch of Safely Remove Dialog Box.

A webpage editor to Print What You Like…..!!!

PrintWhatYouLike is a webpage editor that lets you control how webpages look when printed. Check it out at http://www.printwhatyoulike.com

PrintWhatYouLike’s service is actually first via their website and a bookmarklet service has been added to allow for quick access. With PrintWhatYouLike you simply enter the website’s URL you want to make printer friendly (or just click on your bookmarklet when you are browsing the website you want to make printer friendly), make your changes, and print.

The  common features of  PrintWhatYouLike  :

  • Save a page as a PDF or HTML;
  • Use the “Do it for me!” feature to see if PrintWhatYouLike can make the website automatically printer friendly for you (it will attempt to remove everything but the text);
  • Make the text larger or smaller;
  • Change the font type (does not seem to work for me);
  • Remove the background of a website;
  • Remove all the images from the website;
  • “Undo”/”Redo” buttons in case you make mistakes.

When you are done with a website, just refresh the page to get it back to normal.

Hotkeys of  PrintWhatYouLike :

Print – Ctrl P                       More – M                       Isolate – I                        Resize – Z

Undo – Ctrl Z                       Less  –  L                         Remove – Del                 Increase Text Size – Ctrl + Up arrow

Redo – Ctrl Y                       Clear – C                        Fit to Width – W            Decrease Text Size – Ctrl + Down arrow
